(PCM) Actor Stephen Baldwin was arrested on Thursday for failing to pay more than $350,000 in taxes.
He did not pay New York state taxes for 2008, 2009 and 20120.
After posing for a very dapper mugshot complete with black suit and slicked back hair, Baldwin pleaded not guilty at an arraignment and was released without bail.
“Mr. Baldwin did not commit any crimes, and he’s working with the district attorney’s office and the New York State Tax Department to resolve any differences,” his lawyer, Russell Yankwitt said.
The youngest Baldwin brother is due back in court on February 5. He could face up to four years if convicted.
“We cannot afford to allow wealthy residents to break the law by cheating on their taxes,” the district attorney said. “The defendant’s repetitive failure to file returns and pay taxes over a period of several years contributes to the sweeping cutbacks and closures in local government and in our schools.”
Baldwin will compete in an all-star season of “The Celebrity Apprentice” this March.
