When Cameron Clarke received the results of his SAT exam, he saw that his scores were not only good, they were perfect. The Germantown Academy senior scored a perfect 2400 on the SAT.
According to SAT officials, more than 1.66 million students took the SAT in 2012, but only a mere 360 students nationwide scored perfectly on the scholastic exam. Although, this was Cameron’s second time taking the exam, he still received a very respectable 2190 the first time. “You can screw up or mess up on the smallest of things,” he said during an interview. “And I just feel like on that particular day, I was focused and I got kind of lucky, I guess, that I didn’t make any mistakes.”
The accomplished cellist showed signs of having an exceptional mind early on. When he was 4, he scored 151 on an IQ test. Since then, his parents have helped him advance his gifts. At the age of 18, he has a four-page resume that many people twice his age would admire. He is a math tutor, a principal cellist for the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, senator in his school’s student government, a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist and much more.
Cameron is a great example that dreams can include more than just sports and entertainment. Congratulations!
