The boy who all stole our hearts in 1990 with his role as Kevin McCallister turns 32 today. Could you believe the same kid that loved cheese pizzas “just for him” and who defeated the “sticky bandits” is now in his 30s?
I will always see Macaulay Culkin as the adorable blonde-haired, pint-sized McCallister that learned about aftershave the hard way.
Of course he had more of an extensive career than just the Home Alone series. He has also starred in such hits as Uncle Buck, My Girl, The Good Son, and Richie Rich.
His role did not increase much further after that as he decided to retire at 14 from acting. He went on in 1998 to marry Rachel Miner, but they got divorced in 2002. In that same year he started dating Mila Kunis. Who could have forgotten that Richie Rich had dated the Friends with Benefits star? I sure did.
After they split they remained friends. But, Culkin was dealing with some legal problems after getting arrested in 2004 for possession of marijuana.
Perhaps one day he will choose to un-retire from acting, as that seemed to be his strong suit. Either way, he was the cutest childhood actor to date and we will now know how to booby trap our homes in case burglars try to break in. As long as we have feathers and glue, toy cars, paint buckets, pet tarantulas, and a bee bee gun – we should be good.
