2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony: Where and How to Watch

The 2012 Olympic Games kick off Friday with a 4 1/2-hour extravaganza at Olympics stadium that will draw an estimated viewership of 1 billion.

Chances are, you'll be one of them. Or at least you want to be. But chances are, you also don't have the luxury of being at home to watch them in front of the TV. And even if you do, NBC -- which is broadcasting the games live -- won't be airing the opening ceremony live.

But don't worry -- you have options.

The Danny Boyle-directed spectacle -- which kicked off at 4 p.m. ET -- is airing live on the BBC, if you happen to have a TV nearby.

If not, the opening ceremony is being live-streamed by various websites, and a quick Internet search should get you there in a hurry.

If you're willing to wait, NBC is airing the opening ceremony on a tape delay, starting at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT and 6:30 p.m. CT.

However you choose to watch the opening ceremony, enjoy it.
