Ratings: 'Glass House,' Despite Legal Brouhaha, Starts Out Soft

The legal controversy surrounding ABC's new reality offering "The Glass House" did little to boost its premiere Monday night.

The series premiere -- which sparked a lawsuit from CBS last month over its alleged similarities to that network's "Big Brother" -- drew a 1.6/4, down 33 percent from the equivalent summer premiere of "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition" last May 30.

Meanwhile, while cantankerous British chef Gordon Ramsay cooked up a narrow ratings win for Fox with "Hell's Kitchen" and "MasterChef," according to preliminary numbers.

Fox took first place in the advertiser-friendly 18-49 demographic with an average 2.4 rating /7 share, and placed third in total viewership with an average 5.5 million.

NBC took a close second in the demo with a 2.3/7 and first in total viewers with 7.5 million. Though down 15 percent from last week for a series low of 2.8/9, "America's Got Talent" at 8 p.m. was still the top-rated show of the night, and was also the most-watched with 11.2 million total viewers. "American Ninja Warrior" dropped slightly for a 2.0/5, and drew 5.8 million total viewers.
