Since going public a few weeks ago, Facebook has been struggling to convince its new stockholders and users that it is, indeed, a good investment. In an effort to keep people interested and invested, Facebook executives are hard at work brainstorming on how to stay relevant and on top.
One way the Facebook brain-trusts are considering to drum up a new-found love amongst folks is by reducing the minimum age to join the social media powerhouse. Younger users bring the opportunity for the possibility of more money for Facebook, although user access for youngsters will be limited to parental controls.
Views on this latest endeavor are split between people who think that it will be a good idea since it’s so hard to enforce age regulations now. There are no real barriers in place to keep young kids away. Others feel that reducing the age will open up a can of worms and give kids access to something that is truly meant for adults. Is this a bad idea? Should Facebook leave well enough alone?
What do you think, is it a good idea for Facebook to reduce the user age?
