If Jon Stewart Met Newt Gingrich At a GOP Debate

Jon Stewart praised CNN’s John King Monday for asking Newt Gingrich about his wife’s "open marriage" accusation in last week's GOP debate. But then he saw King caved to the former House Speaker.

Stewart, as is often the case, had to play catch up on the news, unable to discuss Monday night’s GOP debate because his show taped too early.

Instead, he discussed Saturday’s South Carolina primary, where, shocking Stewart, Gingrich won with ease.

That prompted Stewart to try and figure out how Gingrich took his campaign off life support for a second time.

His conclusion: South Carolina voters don’t care about morals, as evidenced by their defense of Gingrich when King asked the question.

Still, Stewart grew excited, hoping King would throw Gingrich’s history of infidelity back in his face.

“I think you have a pretty good imagination for despicability!” Stewart quipped. In case you missed it, King didn't fire back at Gingrich. He backed away from the question, exasperating Stewart.

So when is Stewart moderating one of these?
