While some many black actors are now looking at the TV world for jobs, there are a few, including Samuel L. Jackson, who are consistently working on the big screen with more projects on the way.
One of those actors is Anthony Mackie.
From '8 Mile,' 'Notorious,' the Oscar winning film, 'The Hurt Locker' and 'Night Catches Us,' the New Orleans native has been able bounce back and forth between studio and independent films.
Still to come out is 'Real Steel' with Hugh Jackman, 'Desert Flower' with Liya Kebede, 'Man on a Ledge' with Sam Worthington, and 'Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter' with Benjamin Walker.
Coming up next is the sci-fi thriller, 'The Adjustment Bureau,' opposite Matt Damon, Emily Blount, and John Slattery.
On the brink of winning a seat in the U.S. Senate, ambitious politician David Norris (played by Damon) meets beautiful contemporary ballet dancer Elise Sellas (played by Emily Blunt)--a woman like none he's ever known. But just as he realizes he's falling for her, mysterious men conspire to keep the two apart.
David learns he is up against the agents of Fate itself--the men of The Adjustment Bureau--who will do everything in their considerable power to prevent David and Elise from being together. In the face of overwhelming odds, he must either let her go and accept a predetermined path...or risk everything to defy Fate and be with her.
Mackie plays Harry Mitchell, a memeber of the Bureau, who despite the objections from his peers, helps David choose the right course to success and happiness.
In speaking with Blackvoices.com, Mackie talks about his role, working with Damon, his thoughts on the upcoming Tupac film, and his next film, 'Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter.'
